Before your photo session, give some thought to your personal "brand." How do you want people in your industry to see you? Are you going for a corporate feel or something more easygoing and approachable? Powerful? Friendly? 2. Match Your Outfit to Your Brand

Speaking of your personal brand, this should factor into your wardrobe selection too. If you want a corporate look, for example, go for a conventional suit or blazer in a simple color like black, gray, or navy. If you want your look to be a bit less traditional, you could opt for an office-appropriate top without a blazer, or a button-up shirt with a colored tie.

3. Build Space Into Your Schedule

A headshot photo session isn’t something to squeeze into your schedule. If you're rushing to the session because of time constraints, you may not be able to get your hair and makeup ready the way you want, or you might get sweaty while rushing to the studio. At the same time, if you schedule something for immediately after your session, you'll be watching the clock and trying to rush through each pose, and that stress isn't the look you want for your headshots. Arrange for plenty of time before and after your photoshoot - you'll have a better experience and your photos will be better too.
